The animals of the taiga biome are mostly small. The animals here are well adapted to the harsh winters that the taiga has. Some of the many animals that call the taiga home are only on a "vacation", because they can't sustain the harsh winters of the taiga. During the summer the annual animals shed their heavy winter coats and take on a lighter one. During the winter the animals of the taiga either migrate or hibernate.
